Privacy policy
This policy covers this website and Garage Pilot, the Android app the shop's staff use to run the calendar. It explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- When you book: your name, your mobile phone number (confirmed by a text-message code), your email if you give one, your vehicle and the notes you write.
- When you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture, as Google shares them. We never see your Google password.
- When you use the contact form: your name, the phone number or email you leave, and your message.
- For each visit: what the shop writes about the work done (mileage, work, next visit). You only see it if the shop chooses to show it.
- A record of the text messages and emails sent to you, so the shop knows what reached you.
Why we use it
Only to run your appointments: confirm them, tell you about changes, answer your messages, and keep your car's service history. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other sites.
The Garage Pilot app
The app is for the shop's administrators only. It shows the same information as the owner's side of this site. On the phone it keeps a sign-in token, and it sends this site a notification token so the shop can be alerted when a customer books, changes or cancels. It does not read your location, contacts, photos or files, and it contains no ads and no analytics.
Who helps us
- Twilio sends the text messages.
- Amazon Web Services sends the emails.
- Google provides the sign-in and delivers the notifications to the app (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
They only receive what they need to deliver each message. The site and its database are hosted in Canada.
Cookies
Two cookies only: one keeps you signed in, the other remembers your language. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Appointments and service records are kept as long as the shop needs them for your car's history. Text-message codes expire after 10 minutes. You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
